Let me admit something.
I haven't followed a lot of football this year.
However, I hear my husband yelling at the TV and that lets me know what is going on.
Before college football started my father told me he had two tickets to see whoever was going to the
Big Ten Championship.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago.
I forgot about those tickets even that college football was going on.
It was a trip that was amazing.
For someone that hasn't been to a game of that size, I was in awe of it all.
The sites, sounds, smells, and the people.
In college games there are no drinking, but people tailgate and pregame.
Those people party a little too hard, then try to walk around the stadium finding their seats.
Not that I have anything against that, but it just isn't safe.
I have an idea now why people go to NFL games and college games.
The game was in Indianapolis at the Lucas Oil Stadium.
The Colts play here, but for the Big Ten it was
Penn State and Wisconsin.
There were so many people.
The roads were closed down.
The smells overwhelming.
The building was huge.
As you walked into the stadium everything moved pretty quick.
You could hear banter between the two different teams.
Something you don't hear at home.
The fans all over were going crazy.
The field itself was bigger than what I thought it was going to be.
I feel that being up higher made everything seem bigger than what it was.
I didn't mind having people yell for their team, but I did have a problem
after hearing "We Are...Penn State" 100 times in less than 10 minutes.
The Badgers were quiet, almost like they weren't there.
The stadium as you can see was an almost white out.
I didn't care who won either way.
The bands were good and it nice to see them together to play The National Anthem.
I got a good picture of Penn State, but when it came to Wisconsin there were people in the way.
It was just a fun time being able to go with my husband, dad, and step-mother.
See my husband and I had been together for 10 years that day!
So that was fun to do together.
I would have taken pictures of the food, but I didn't have time.
The nachos were loaded, the pretzels had no salt (which made me happy)
and the water had no lids (not so happy about) and the brat smelled pretty dang good.
If you get the chance to go to any game that is this large, go!
Make a weekend out of it!
I'll have information about where we stayed in another blog, but it was a great stay at The Alexander.
Enjoy following your blog and reading about the fun and interesting places that you get to experience.
