"Normal"

I bet you are wondering why my title is in quotations.
What it should say is "There is nothing Normal about this."

There are quiet a few posts about food, I mean after all this blog is called,
Sweet Travels and Food after all.

There is a place called Normal, IL.
Since this is also a travel blog let me give you a little background.
Normal has a population of a little over 52,000 people living there and about 2 hours from Chicago.

However, out of 52,000 people in this town 2 women, sisters, made something incredible.
Gourmet Edible Cookie Dough
at

Yes, you did read that right.
These women were on Shark Tank a few years back looking for a way to market this product.
They were only looking to expand to give the world edible cookie dough and a bigger kitchen.

What they ended up getting was national recognition and a new fan of their product.

There are several flavors that you can choose and I decided on a pint of the regular good old fashioned Chocolate Chip, but there are Monster, Confetti, Cookies & Cream, and Naked.

Not only are there pints, but also “single” serve mini cups.
I say “single” because I could eat the whole pint alone.
They are about the size of a pudding cup.

I must be honest about what I like and what I don’t like.
I really don’t like chocolate chips, not even in cookies.
I know, I know, I am weird for that, but I just don’t like the crunch with it.
In this case, there was more “dough” than chip and the chips that were there were mini.

The taste is creamy, buttery, with a hint of vanilla.
Delicious to the point where the ¼ cup serving size is a tease.
The fact that this is edible means no eggs.
While this takes the, as a friend said to me, “thrill” out of the possible salmonella, you can’t tell they aren’t there and I don’t miss them.

This is an eat, don’t bake, cookie dough.
They won’t puff up due to no baking soda and they will taste funny with no eggs.

Their website does show where they sell and if they aren’t in your area, you can buy online.
Make sure you check out the FAQ’s section so you can see when they ship.

Make sure you check this place out!
I have now found my midnight, cold and rainy weather snack.

Keep up the amazing job Julia Schmid & Joan Pacetti!
