There are quite a few things that you need to know about Paris. One of those things is normally when to go. If you go late August to early September, there are not a lot of people. It will still be busy, but not as bad. Another thing are the lines or queuing. If you are lucky the only line you have to stand in is to get your bag checked and then you can be on your way. Other times you will have to stand in line for hours. On any given day there are about 32,000 people that visit the Eiffel Tower.

This is not my photo, but you can
see how long the line gets.
So trying to find the right time to go where you don't have to wait all day in line is difficult. Going in the morning when it opens, there will be lines. Going in the evening, there will be lines. If you purchase your ticket online before hand you will still have to wait in line, but will be given priority. However, if you go during the times of 10am to 1pm, the lines will be smaller. People are getting ready for lunch so they will not be around. I would suggest eating a bigger breakfast and start your way over. We didn't have to wait in any lines to get to our tickets. We didn't have to wait to go to the top. The only thing that we did have to wait for was to get on the elevator and we were the first ones on and off. The views are worth the wait.

This is my photo of the view.
I could go on and on about the 360 views that the Eiffel Tower will give you, but you will already know that. People flock here to sit and watch people and time pass by. It is nothing to look around and see couples holding hands and kissing. People with selfie sticks, cameras, and GoPro's all over. These things are what you see on a normal basis, but what you don't see are the security lines, armed guards, metal detectors, and fences surrounding the tower now.
These types of security have been put in place for everyone's safety, but if you aren't used to this type of thing it may worry you. The guards are nice and check your bags, the fences stay out of your pictures since you are looking up at the tower, and you aren't aloud to have a camera on when you walk though where they wand you down.
Also, if you drink, there is a Champagne Bar!
Another pictures of mine.
Tips for the day: *When you go make sure it is during a lunch time.
*Go during the off season
*Take a picnic and enjoy the lights.
*Don't bring any weapons with you.
*You may have to stand in line for a little while depending on when you go.
